A library of music for the resistance

Welcome to LibertyScore.us, an on-line library of music that can be used in our struggle for freedom and against authoritarianism. I am Jake Sterling and I’m a musician. It seems to me that my best contribution to the struggle will be musical. I am assembling here music for voice and instruments which you can download for your own use. Music is one of the best ways to build solidarity and strengthen us all to keep going. These songs can be used for demonstrations, gatherings, vigils as well as smaller, more reflective gatherings. Some of this music may be useful simply for the spiritual renewal of people in the movement.

There is some music that is missing from this collection, for instance, I don’t have any of Woodie Guthrie’s songs. To me it seems that, after a limited period—Benjamin Franklin thought fourteen years would be appropriate—music and other intellectual “property” should enter into the commons, but copyright law does not agree.

To find music, go to the menu-bar and click on the “Songs” link.

“Civilization is spread more by singing than by anything else.”
